In this role, based at our Ingleburn site, you will lead the development and implementation of innovative packaging solutions for Henkel’s consumer brands, driving projects from concept through to execution with a focus on quality, cost, sustainability and consumer appeal. You will also oversee laboratory activities and data systems, helping to deliver packaging excellence and support the continued innovation of our leading brands and technologies.

What you’ll do \n

\n
• Develop and implement innovative packaging solutions that meet international standards and requirements for quality, functionality, cost, sustainability, market, safety, regulatory and legal compliance.
\n
• Develop packaging solutions to support promotional activities and brand requirements.
\n
• Lead packaging qualification and validation activities, including performance and compatibility testing, and provide technical input and approval for packaging artwork.
\n
• Maintain packaging specification databases, including accurate measurements, data management and statistical analysis.
\n
• Identify and evaluate packaging materials and technologies that improve processes, reduce costs and complexity, and deliver competitive advantage.
\n
• Support Henkel’s sustainability agenda and compliance with APCO covenant obligations.
\n
• Monitor packaging trends and proactively identify emerging technologies, materials and innovations to drive continuous improvement and competitive advantage.
\n
• Build strong collaborative relationships with packaging suppliers, R&D teams and internal and external stakeholders, while ensuring laboratory activities, performance testing, processes, consumables, calibration and equipment maintenance comply with Henkel standards and good laboratory practices.

What makes you a good fit \n

\n
• Degree in Packaging, Chemical, Mechanical, Biochemical Engineering or a related discipline.
\n
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a packaging role within FMCG or a similar industry.
\n
• Experience using packaging measurement and testing equipment, with strong analytical, problem-solving and statistical analysis skills.
\n
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) and statistical analysis software.
\n
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a professional approach, attention to detail, critical thinking and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
\n
• Self-motivated, creative and collaborative team player with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet project deadlines and deliver work in an organised and effective manner.
\n
