MECHANIC

Tucketts Tyrepower Hastings is seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanic to join our dedicated team in Hastings, VIC. This is a full-time position where you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing vehicles to the highest standards. This position offers the opportunity to work with modern diagnostic equipment and a variety of vehicle types whilst contributing to a reputable automotive business with a strong commitment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive vehicle inspections, diagnostics and repairs using industry-standard tools and equipment
• Service and maintain vehicles including engine work, brake systems, suspension, and fluid replacements
• Identify mechanical faults and provide customers with clear explanations of required repairs and associated costs
• Conduct routine maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, battery checks and tyre rotations
• Ensure all work is completed to manufacturer specifications and in compliance with safety standards
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation for all vehicles worked on
• Adhere to workplace health and safety procedures and maintain a clean, organised workshop environment

What we're looking for

• A qualification in automotive mechanics or equivalent hands-on experience demonstrating competency in vehicle repair and maintenance
• Current driver's licence and a genuine interest in automotive work
• Proven experience working with a variety of vehicle makes and models
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including engines, transmissions, brake systems and electrical components
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment used in modern vehicle servicing
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail in diagnosing and rectifying mechanical issues
• Strong work ethic, reliability and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical information to customers in accessible terms
• A commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards in all work undertaken
• Previous experience in a fast-paced automotive workshop environment would be advantageous
