The Cooinda Mental Health inpatient unit is a state-of-the-art 33-bed acute unit for those aged 18 and over. With private, well-equipped rooms, patients have use of the dining room, laundry, lounge areas, visitors' lounge, outdoor areas, music room, art and craft room, therapy rooms and gymnasium. Our service provides assessment and evidence-based treatment for patients experiencing, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)/trauma, eating disorders, psychotic disorders, addictions, complex needs due to a mental illness, as well as young adult and older persons mental health needs.

Your part in our Buderim Hospital team

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe, holistic nursing care to clients of all ages and cultural groups, including individuals and their families. The Registered Nurse practices independently and interdependently assuming accountability and responsibility for their own actions, and the delegation to and the supervision of care provided by Enrolled Nurses, Assistants in Nursing and health care students (ANMC National Competency Standards for the Registered Nurse). What makes a difference for us?

• Bachelor of Nursing degree or equivalent and AHPRA registration
• A minimum of 2 years post-graduate experience in acute mental health
• Full Australian Working Rights (please note, we are unable to provide sponsorship at this time)
• Flexibility to work across a 24/7 rotating roster, with demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Workplace Health and Safety practices.
• A commitment to patient safety and quality improvements and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
• Willingness to obtain required vaccinations in line with hospitals infection control requirements, as well as undergo national criminal history check and functional assessment
