AVK Australia is part of the Global AVK Group and responsible for the group's activities in the Oceania region (Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea & Pacific Islands). AVK Australia is based in Wingfield, South Australia, with operations across Australia as well as New Zealand.

About this Opportunity

\n

We are seeking an experienced QHSE Manager to lead our Quality, Health, Safety and Environment function.

\n

The QHSE Manager plays a critical part in driving QHSE performance standards, providing specialised guidance, advice and support on QHSE matters, ensuring compliance and consistency in both corporate governance and operational processes.

\n

This role will also be responsible for maintaining and continuously improving our Company Management System (CMS), ensuring it remains effective, cost-effective and compliant with ISO 9001, AS 4801 and ISO 14001 requirements.

\n

This role will work closely with internal teams, customers, auditors and our nominated certification body.

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

Quality

\n

Develop, implement and maintain a formal, cost-effective Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001 requirements.

\n

Manage and maintain the Company Management System Manual, quality policies, procedures, ensuring they remain current and compliant.

\n

Drive continuous improvement across processes and products, with a focus on quality, efficiency and compliance.

\n

Manage the internal audit program, Non-Conformance Report (NCRs) process, and customer complaint process, ensuring non-conformances and complaints are documented, investigated and resolved in a timely manner.

\n

Act as the primary liaison with the company's nominated Certification Body (CAB) on matters relating to the Company Management System.

\n

Ensure all approved products continue to meet designated specifications and applicable standards.

\n

Health, Safety & Environment

\n

Monitor compliance with legislative changes nationally and assist Managers to implement new initiatives.

\n

Oversee incident management, reporting and investigations with site HSE coordinators and verify completion of corrective actions for investigation close out.

\n

Support our safety culture by participating in safety meetings and initiatives through consultation with staff.

\n

Participate and support internal/external auditing requirements.

\n

Regularly reviewing the WHS & E systems and reporting upon concerns, improvements and action plans to management.

\n

Drive Environmental & Sustainability initiatives through corporate governance.

\n

Compile, analyse & report health & safety and environment statistics and metrics, both locally and globally, supporting the Group AVK organisation.

\n

To succeed in this role, you will need:

\n

Strong background in QHSE, WHS, quality, environmental, compliance, audit and management systems.

\n

Strong understanding of ISO 9001 quality management systems, with knowledge of ISO 14001 and AS 4801 requirements.

\n

Experience with internal and external audits, corrective actions and compliance requirements.

\n

Strong analytical, reporting and problem-solving skills.

\n

High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.

\n

Advanced Microsoft Office Suite (365) and SharePoint skills.

\n

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to influence and engage internal and external stakeholders of all levels.

\n

A proactive approach to continuous improvement.

\n

Familiarity with manufacturing environments (desirable).

\n

The salary for this role will be negotiated in line with skills and experience.
