Team Leader

Why this role matters

At Intrax Housing, our people are how we deliver for our clients. As Team Leader, you'll take on a hands-on leadership role, responsible for the day to day performance, development and wellbeing of a team of engineers working across Residential Engineering andMedium Density projects for our Queensland clients.

This role is about people first. You'll coach engineers through their technical and career development, manage workload and delivery across your team, and act as a trusted point of contact for technical liaising with our key clients. It suits someone who gets genuine satisfaction from watching others grow and develop.

What you'd do

• Lead, coach and develop a team of engineers, providing regular feedback, career guidance and technical support.
• Own the day to day performance of your team, including workload planning, utilisation and quality of delivery.
• Run structured check-ins and 1:1s, identifying development needs and building individual growth plans.
• Partner with Account Management to support client retention, satisfaction and pipeline growth.
• Identify and resolve performance, capability or workload issues early, escalating where needed.
• Monitor and report on team KPIs, including quality, delivery and financial targets.
• Champion a positive, supportive team culture and model the behaviours the organisation values.
• Contribute to broader Housing team improvement initiatives, systems and processes.

What you bring

We're looking for someone who leads with people first, backed by a solid engineering foundation. Ideally, you'll bring:

• Experience leading, coaching or mentoring engineers within a structural, civil or housing engineering environment.
• A genuine interest in developing others and building team capability over the long term.
• Sound understanding of residential and building engineering delivery, including the National Construction Code and Australian Standards.
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities across a team's workload.
• Confidence having direct, constructive conversations about performance and development.
• Strong communication skills, comfortable working with clients, engineers and internal stakeholders.
• Bachelor of Civil or Structural Engineering, or equivalent, from a recognised tertiary institution.
• Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ), or working towards, highly regarded.
