For over 30 years, Macquarrie Dandenong has been a trusted name in the heavy vehicle repair and servicing industry. We are a licensed Heavy Vehicle Roadworthy Tester, dealing with Truck, Bus, and Trailer repairs and servicing. We keep a number of large businesses on the road 24/7, thanks to our dedicated and professional team.

Competitive Pay

$40 - 45 an hour for the right person. Apprentice applications wages will reflect the apprenticeship. Wages can also be negotiated depending on your level of experience.

Work-Life Balance

Monday to Friday with the occasional Saturday if required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine maintenance inspections on vehicles and identify potential issues or areas of concern.
  • Perform complex diagnostics to determine the cause of malfunctions or issues.
  • Carry out repairs and replacements on engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, and other components.
  • Utilise specialised tools and equipment to efficiently troubleshoot and rectify issues.
  • Adhere to manufacturer specifications and guidelines while conducting repairs and maintenance.
  • Provide technical guidance and assistance to less-experienced team members when necessary.
  • Manage the everyday running of the workshop area and staff.
  • Order parts when required and manage inventory.
  • Answer phones and deal with customers, providing excellent customer service.

Requirements

  • Relevant certification or trade qualification.
  • This role will require someone with a high level of trade experience working with heavy diesel engines and truck.
  • Current Manual HR Licence and Heavy Vehicle Driver’s License.
  • Own tools are required.
  • Solid understanding of occupational health and safety practices within a workshop environment.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
