Salary: MP Year 1-9 $365,665 - $465,018 p.a. pro rata or $700.96 - $891.41 per session (inclusive of base salary and applicable allowances)

Position Profile and Role

\n

We are currently seeking Consultant Psychiatrists/Psychiatrist with expertise in addiction/Specialists in addiction/Physicians with expertise in addiction to join our team at Fiona Stanley Hospital and Cockburn Health.

\n

Operating across both inpatient and outpatient settings, you will provide clinical leadership to a multidisciplinary team delivering expert care to patients with complex, co-occurring psychiatric, substance use (AOD) disorders and behavioural addictions, while actively promoting patient safety and a high quality of care.

\n

You will provide leadership, orientation, training, supervision and education, where relevant, for doctors in training, Health Service Medical Practitioners and other health workers. Working in collaboration with the Head of Service and Consultant Psychiatrist, other peer Consultants, you will actively work to achieve national, state and SMHS performance standards and targets. You will work within the defined scope of clinical practice as defined and recommended by the SMHS Area Medical Credentialing Committee.

This recruitment process offers permanent, fixed-term and sessional opportunities, with hours and FTE open to discussion. Fixed-term contracts come with the possibility of extensions and/or permanency.

We currently have 1.0 FTE (Full Time Equivalent) available to be filled immediately.

Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH)

\n

Fiona Stanley Hospital is an 863-bed tertiary and quaternary hospital providing a broad range of specialised healthcare services. These include the State Rehabilitation Service, a comprehensive cancer centre, dedicated mental health facilities, maternity, paediatric and neonatal care, as well as the State Adult Burns Service. FSH also delivers highly specialised treatments such as heart and lung transplantation and hyperbaric medicine.

South Metropolitan Health Service (SMHS) Mental Health

\n

South Metropolitan Health Service Mental Health delivers comprehensive public mental health care through a network of community mental health services, hospitals and community health centres. Across Fiona Stanley Fremantle Hospital Mental Health (FSFH Mental Health) and Peel and Rockingham Kwinana Mental Health (PaRK Mental Health), specialist services are provided across the South Metropolitan region, supporting consumers with accessible, collaborative and high-quality mental health care. SMHS Mental Health will soon open a new state-of-the-art facility at Fremantle Hospital designed to offer expanded and modern mental health services for our community. The three-storey space will provide an additional 40 mental health beds and a 24-hour Mental Health Crisis Centre, ensuring compassionate and innovative care for those who need it most.
