Position Profile:

Lead, plan, implement and evaluate health promotion strategies and programs across the Goldfields that align with local, state and national priorities in collaboration with management and key stakeholders.

This is a Permanent Full Time appointment.

\n

Area Profile:

\n

The WA Country Health Service (WACHS) is the largest country health system in Australia and one of the biggest in the world, providing health services to approximately half a million people, including 45,000 Aboriginal people, over a vast two and a half million square kilometre area. The organisation comprises seven regions, with a strong network of public hospitals, health services and health centres located across rural and remote Western Australia. Our core business is the provision of quality, accessible health services to country WA residents and visitors.

• Partnership and stakeholder influence Build and sustain productive partnerships with communities, Aboriginal stakeholders, government agencies and service providers to influence population health outcomes, gain stakeholder commitment and support collaborative approaches to addressing regional health priorities.

• Strategic program leadership and delivery Lead the planning, implementation and evaluation of evidence-based health promotion initiatives that address identified community needs and strategic priorities, ensuring programs are effectively managed, outcome-focused and responsive to the regional context.
\n
• Research, evaluation and evidence-based decision making Use research, health intelligence and evaluation methodologies to analyse information, identify emerging issues and provide evidence-based recommendations that inform health promotion strategies, funding opportunities and service improvement initiatives.
\n
• Cultural responsiveness and Aboriginal health Demonstrate culturally responsive practice by integrating an understanding of Aboriginal health, social determinants of health and community strengths into planning, engagement and program delivery to improve health equity and access across the region.
\n
• Communication and regional service delivery Communicate complex information effectively through professional reports, presentations, funding submissions and stakeholder engagement activities, and work autonomously across regional and remote settings to achieve organisational objectives.

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, applicants found suitable for this position may be considered for other 'similar' vacancies within WACHS and/or the wider WA public sector. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.
