About the Role

\n

Catholic Education Western Australia is seeking qualified primary and secondary teachers to join Catholic schools across regional Western Australia, including Bunbury, Geraldton and the Goldfields-Esperance-Merredin-Southern Cross (GEMS) regions. We are looking for dedicated teachers willing to relocate and become part of supportive regional communities while experiencing a different side of Western Australia. This is a great opportunity for early career teachers, as well as experienced teachers seeking a change. Successful candidates will receive relocation assistance and additional regional incentives.

These roles offer the opportunity to teach in close‐knit school communities where relationships, collaboration and community connection are central to student learning. Teachers in regional schools often experience strong collegial support, meaningful engagement with families and opportunities to contribute beyond the classroom. There are also greater opportunities for early leadership and a faster pathway into leadership roles.

Recruitment for these roles is supported through Teach Regional WA, an internal guided pathway that helps teachers explore regional opportunities and identify roles aligned with their experience, preferences and school context. Please note that for 2026, CEWA is assessing candidates who are currently based in Australia or New Zealand only. International candidates may be considered in the future if workforce shortages arise, but this is not required at present.

About Teach Regional WA

\n

Teach Regional WA is coordinated by Catholic Education Western Australia, the program supports principals recruit quality teachers while providing candidates with clear information, honest conversations and tailored support throughout the process.

\n

Teachers apply by submitting anExpression of Interest (EOI). Applicants may nominate preferred regions or choose to be considered more broadly across Bunbury, Geraldton and GEMS. Submitting an EOI does not commit you to a role.

\n

After you apply, our Talent team will contact you to complete an initial screening and, where suitable, progress you to interviews for specific roles. Opportunities are available for both immediate start and future positions.

Locations

Teaching opportunities may be available across:

• Bunbury (South West): Regional centres and surrounding country towns with strong services and community connection
\n
• Geraldton (Mid West): Regional and regional‐plus communities offering relational, community‐focused teaching
\n

\n

Goldfields-Esperance-Merredin-Southern Cross (GEMS): Inland centres and smaller communities where schools play a central role in local life

Eligibility Requirements

\n

Applicants must:

\n

\n
• Hold a recognised teaching qualification (Early Childhood, Primary or Secondary)
\n
• Hold, or be eligible for, registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA)
\n
• Be based in Australia or New Zealand
\n
• Have school‐based teaching experience or supervised university practicum experience
\n

To be successful, you will:

• -Be currently based in Australia
\n
• -Have the right to work in Australia
\n

\n

Experience solely in early learning centres or non‐school settings does not meet eligibility.

\n

Salary and Benefits

\n

$91,449 – $136,563 per annum plus 12% superannuation, in accordance with Catholic Education Western Australia salary agreements and based on qualifications and experience.

\n

Additional incentives, including regional allowances and relocation support, vary by location and are discussed during the recruitment process.

\n
