Metering Officer

Job Description

The role will be responsible for performing metering field activities, ensuring 100% accuracy of metering installations, and full compliance with all Metering Services Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Follows and adheres to standard policies and requirements for metering equipment and associated metering solutions. This will guarantee safe work practices and quality of service to the community.

\n

This role is based at our brand-new state-of-the-art South Metro Depot in Forrestdale, conveniently located next to Tonkin Highway. Spanning across 120,000 square meters. With the latest infrastructure and technology, the depot empowers all employees to create that perfect work-life balance whilst operating in an inclusive and diverse workplace.

• Take personal accountability for safety in the work environment and ensure safe work practises are followed and a safe work environment maintained.
\n
• Understand and operate within Western Powers Occupational Health and Safety systems and reporting including identifying hazards, taking corrective action and reporting all incidents.
\n
• Transform the customer experience by showing empathy and innovation in finding and applying technical solutions.
\n
• Compliance with Western Power's Standard Metering Policies and Requirements.
\n
• Resolution of complex technical issues.
\n
• Take personal accountability for work performance and be open to other contributions. Work cooperatively within the team and across Western Power.
\n
• Assist in training programs and field training as required.
\n
• Ensure feedback to stakeholders to keep them informed particularly if job not going to plan where appropriate.

What Makes You a Great Fit

\n

\n
• A Grade Electrical Workers Licence (essential).
\n
• Electrical Trade Certificate and hold a current WA Electrical Workers License.
\n
• Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Metering Officer or related discipline. Hold all appropriate industry licences or certificates of competency in accordance with the Energy Safety Act 2006.
\n
• Sound experience in the fields of measurement, communications, electrical instrumentation and power metering.
\n
• High Voltage (HV) Low Voltage (LV) and Time of Use metering.
\n
• Computer programming (meter software) related to the commissioning and testing of the above meter Types.
\n
• Different Communications equipment and technology (GPRS, DLC, TCP/IP, PSTN, Radio, Satellite Communications etc.).
\n
• Sound understanding of metering processes and procedures, Metering Standards and Metering Code.
\n
