The Role \n

Working closely with the Senior Leadership team, you will be responsible for supporting the month-end process, preparing reports, and ensuring accuracy across ledgers. This short-term contract offers an opportunity to contribute your skills in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while gaining valuable exposure to senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities \n

• Prepare month-end financial reports and reconciliations
\n
• Undertake variance analysis against budgets and forecasts
\n
• Review and analyse divisional P&L results
\n
• Compile working papers and assist with ad hoc reporting for executives
\n
• Maintain accurate records across general ledger accounts
\n

About You \n

\n
• Manage and perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations across multiple entities, ensuring accounts are accurate, complete and fully supported.
\n
• Take a hands-on role in month-end and year-end reporting, including journals, accruals, prepayments, provisions and balance sheet adjustments.
\n
• Oversee bank, intercompany, general ledger, payroll, debtor and creditor reconciliations, investigating discrepancies and clearing outstanding items.
\n
• Review and analyse balance sheet movements and aged reconciling items, identifying errors and implementing appropriate corrective actions.
\n
• Prepare and maintain detailed reconciliation schedules and supporting working papers for internal reporting and external audit requirements.
\n
• Work closely with operational and finance teams to resolve complex accounting and reconciliation issues across multiple entities.
\n
• Support the preparation of monthly management accounts, financial statements and variance analysis, providing clear commentary on key movements.
\n
• Ensure accurate accounting for accruals, provisions, fixed assets, revenue and other technical accounting areas relevant to a large, multi-entity environment.
\n
• Assist with year-end audit, statutory reporting and compliance requirements, including responding to auditor queries and providing supporting documentation.
\n
• Review existing processes and controls, identifying opportunities to improve reconciliation accuracy, financial controls and month-end efficiency.
\n
• Provide technical guidance to the wider finance team while remaining hands-on with the preparation, review and resolution of day-to-day accounting matters.
