\n As a result of our continued success we currently have permanent opportunities for trade qualified Spray Painters to join our advanced manufacturing site located in Port Melbourne on a full-time permanent basis. Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager you will be responsible for Sealant application product preparation and painting of various parts and products within the paint shop. Shift Schedule: \n

\n
• Day Shift: 6am - 2:30pm
\n
• Afternoon Shift: 2:30pm - 11pm (15% Loading)
\n
• Night Shift: 10pm - 6:30am (30% Loading)
\n

Position Responsibilities: \n

\n
• Understanding the requirements of quality instructions and detailed drawings
\n
• Compliance with BAA and customer quality assurance standards and requirements
\n
• Comply with surface finish process specifications and work order specifications
\n
• Operate and monitor spray booths & oven specifications
\n
• Preparation and painting of final assembled and detailed parts
\n
• Use of both hand and pneumatic paint process tools
\n
• Complete preparation processes for painting of composite products
\n
• Undertake mixing processes and paint application in a production environment
\n
• Maintain housekeeping and compliance requirements
\n
• Participate in Lean programs by supporting innovation and continuous improvement initiatives in all areas of the business
\n
• Participate in health and safety culture and uphold safety & environmental standards
\n

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience): \n

\n
• Australian recognized Trade qualification as a Spray Painter is essential
\n
• Completion of a trade Apprenticeship backed with relevant experience working as a Spray Painter
\n
• Experience in spray painting onto various substrate materials in a high-quality environment
\n
• Flexibility to work across day afternoon and night shift
\n
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and work instructions as per specifications
\n
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
\n
• Basic use of computer systems
\n
• Able to exercise independent judgment
\n
• Capable of working under indirect supervision
\n
• General knowledge of safety procedures and strong advocate of EH&S
\n

Additional Information: \n

This is an EBA position and classified as an Aerospace Tradesperson 1. The successful candidate will be required to complete pre-employment checks and a 3-month probationary period.
