About our Opportunity

We are seeking an energetic and motivated Business Development Manager for our Geomatics team. The Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying new markets and customers and for driving sales of Maptek products, services and support programs. Building and maintaining a sales pipeline of key customer accounts and achieving agreed sales targets at required profit margins is a primary function of this role. The role will require you to undertake frequent travel, as you will be expected to spend considerable time growing our customer base through physical site visits. You will be responsible for developing expansive networks built on professionalism and trust.

Responsibilities to include, but not limited to:

• Identify new business opportunities and potential clients in target markets, and develop relationships with them to secure new business;
• Prepare and deliver presentations to potential clients and stakeholders, and negotiate contracts and agreements as needed;
• Achieve sales targets, at expected profit margins, by converting leads into sales;
• Maintain ultimate ownership of new business throughout the sales cycle – from sales quotation to project completion – ensuring premium customer service throughout the process;
• Create and maintain a customer database in the Salesforce CRM system.

What do we ask you to bring to the table?

• Relevant Degree or Postgraduate qualifications;
• Must be able to travel;
• Minimum five (5) years’ experience in a solutions sales role, preferably within the mining industry;
• Success in developing prospective accounts, winning new business and expanding sales within existing customer accounts;
• Experience in achieving sales targets at expected profit margins;
• Proven success selling at senior decision-maker level and conducting executive/board level sales presentations;
• Current detailed knowledge of mining industry drivers, trends, challenges and objectives, and how these relate to technology requirements or opportunities;
• Excellent communication and sales presentation skills and techniques,and competent using presentation tools such as PowerPoint;
• Autonomous and strong work ethic;
• Cool under pressure; and
• A current Australian Class C Driver’s Licence
