## Senior Manager, Line 1 Risk, OperationsApply: Sydney Office - George Street: Full time: Posted Today: JR101977**About the role**As Senior Manager, Line 1 Risk, Operations, you will support the Head of Line 1 Risk, Transformation & Operations to coordinate and strengthen risk management across the division.You will work closely with business leaders to identify emerging risks, address control gaps and embed practical risk management into day-to-day operations. Your advice and insights will support informed decision-making, improve the control environment and help the business deliver strong customer outcomes while meeting its regulatory obligations.A key focus of the role will be providing specialist risk support across Conduct, Payments and Financial Crime Operations. You will oversee risk governance activities, including risk reporting, key risk indicators, risk and control self-assessments, risk-in-change assessments and monitoring against risk appetite.You will collaborate across the three lines of defence, providing risk training and guidance to business teams and supporting senior leaders to make sound, risk-informed decisions. You will also coach and guide members of the Line 1 Risk team, helping to build a proactive, accountable and high-performing risk culture.**About you**You are an experienced risk professional with a strong understanding of operational risk, controls and regulatory obligations, ideally gained within financial services or another highly regulated environment.You bring practical experience supporting risk management frameworks and can confidently review critical processes, identify root causes and control weaknesses, and recommend actions that reduce risk and simplify the way the business operates.You are comfortable providing pragmatic Line 1 risk advice and influencing decisions across all levels of an organisation. You have experience across risk governance, reporting, key risk indicators, risk appetite monitoring, control design and effectiveness, issues management, obligations and risk-in-change activities. Knowledge of Conduct, Payments and Financial Crime Operations will be important to your success in this role.You are an analytical and logical thinker who can translate complex risk matters into clear, practical advice. You communicate confidently, build credible relationships and bring the organisation and project management skills needed to manage competing priorities effectively.You will also be motivated by the opportunity to coach others, contribute to a positive team environment and help strengthen risk capability across the business.
