Job description

You will contribute to teaching and program delivery and support the ongoing development and promotion of the Museum’s education offering, as well as assisting the First Nations Education Lead, Manager, First Nations and Head of Education to develop the strategic direction for learning programs.

Key responsibilities

  • As an Education Project Officer (First Na tions), you will research, design, develop, deliver and evaluate education programs and learning resources that enhance the understanding of First Nations cultures, sc ience and natural history for school, tertiary and community audiences.
  • You will work closely with First Nations colleagues and communities, Pasifika co lleagues, scientists, educators and partner organisations to co-design programs and resources that reflect community priorities and support cultural ly informed practice.
  • You will be paid a competitive total remuneration package of $116,832.52 - $ 128,912.31, including an annual salary of $102,936 - $113,579, plu s employer’s contribution to superannuation (currently 12%) and annual leave loading.

  • To be eligible for this role at the Australian Museum, you must hold full working rights in Australia and meet all essential requirements listed in the position description.
  • Adequate knowledge and experience in order to deliver the Key Accountabilities and perform to the Focus Capabilities outlined in this Role Description.
  • You are a proud Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person with a passion for supporting learning through First Nations knowledges, cultures, histories and pers pectives.
