Our client is a leading Australian law firm with a recognised market position at the intersection of corporate, funds and real estate.

The firm is consistently ranked by Doyle's Guide, Best Lawyers and Chambers Asia-Pacific - with acknowledged strength in real estate, property-backed M&A and joint ventures, and complex commercial property transactions. It acts for fund managers, REITs, superannuation funds, offshore capital, developers and institutional investors, and has the national bench and infrastructure to support a partner who arrives with momentum.

Real estate is core to the firm's strategy, and the partnership is collegiate, commercially engaged and invested in the success of incoming partners. The firm is looking to leverage this expertise to grow its funds offering.

The Opportunity

VIXA is working on an exclusive basis with a firm that is actively investing in its corporate, funds and real estate capability across Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane - and is seeking an anchor partner who brings technical expertise and the ambition to build.

The incoming partner will work across a combination of the following:

• Fund establishment, structuring and capital raising for real estate and asset managers
• Institutional real estate investment, including acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures and co-investment structures
• Property-backed and REIT transactions and platform deals
• Development structuring, forward-funding and staged delivery arrangements
• Related regulatory and governance advice for fund managers and investors

The anchor role carries leadership responsibilities and active participation in the partnership and a hand in shaping the practice's national growth.

About You

We are seeking an experienced Partner who is ready for a strategic move and can demonstrate the following:

• 10-25 years' post-admission experience with a substantive corporate/funds/real estate focus
• Technical capability across fund structuring, institutional real estate investment or property-backed M&A
• Established relationships with fund managers, institutional investors, REITs, developers or offshore capital
• A track record of business development and the profile to continue building at a new firm
• Experience from a top-tier, leading mid-tier or well-regarded specialist firm
• The commercial instinct and interpersonal credibility to operate effectively within a collegiate partnership
