The Team Leader Community Support Services leadand manage the delivery of Community Support Services, including Property Maintenance, Social Support, Community Transport and Senior Citizens Centres, ensuring high-quality services that meet community needs. The role is responsible for supporting staff and volunteers, overseeing contractor performance, contributing to strategic planning and budget development, and working collaboratively with stakeholders to enhance service delivery and achieve organisational objectives.

What you'll be doing:

\n

\n
• Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of Council's Community Support Services ensuring operations are consistent with Council and Government policies, Regulatory Service Standards and accepted professional best practice.
\n
• Coordinate the provision and delivery of Community Support Services, ensuring individual client needs and expectations are met.
\n
• Ensure Community Support Services are delivered by staff with appropriate skills and experience to provide quality and responsive service that meet client's needs.
\n
• Provide effective leadership for the Community Support Services team, fostering a collaborative, positive and innovative team environment.
\n
• Lead the recruitment and induction of appropriately skilled and experienced staff within the team.
\n
• Create an environment where staff are provided with appropriate and regular supervision in a setting of mutual respect and support.
\n
• Participate in the regular review and evaluation of Council's Community Support Services to ensure they remain relevant and appropriate for clients and their carers.
\n
• Identify and quantify gaps in service delivery and available support services within the local context for both internal and external Community Support Services.
\n
• Recognise opportunities for innovation and respond proactively through the initiation, development and facilitation of Community Support Services that support, empower and educate clients and connect them with people in their community.

The skills and experience you'll bring to the role:

• Ability to promote team empowerment and individual development through coaching, team-building techniques.
\n
• Demonstrated ability to foster a positive, collaborative and high performing culture, by leading, empowering and developing staff to ensure adherence to Council policies and procedures.
\n
• Ability to effectively manage and direct staff to meet expected organisational and work objectives.
\n
• Demonstrated ability to engage cooperation of staff, members of the community, community groups and other relevant organisations to achieve objectives.
\n
• Proven written and verbal communication skills including the ability to write reports and routine correspondence and liaise with counterparts.
\n
• Ability to deal with conflict, difficult situations, resolving organisational problems and presenting a positive Council image.
\n

Required Certifications & Qualifications:

\n

\n
• Tertiary qualification in Community Services, Allied Health, Human Services, or a related field, and experience in working with older people and people with disabilities in a home or community setting; or lesser formal qualifications with substantial experience in working with older people and people with disabilities in a home or community setting.
\n
