Senior Procurement Specialist

Lead strategic procurement activities that help ensure Victoria's emergency management resources, assets and services are ready when they are needed most.

The Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) is seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist to deliver end-to-end procurement services that support Bushfire and Forest Services operations across Victoria.

This is an opportunity to join a purpose-driven team responsible for ensuring procurement activities are compliant, timely and aligned with operational readiness and emergency management requirements. You will work across a diverse range of procurement projects, partnering with operational teams, technical specialists and suppliers to deliver procurement outcomes that support critical assets, logistics, infrastructure and emergency response capability.

As a Senior Procurement Specialist, you will provide expert procurement advice, manage multiple concurrent sourcing activities and help strengthen procurement governance and capability across the organisation. You will also supervise and develop two direct reports while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance procurement performance and service delivery.

About the role

You will bring:

• significant experience delivering end-to-end procurement activities in complex environments
• experience managing requests for quotation (RFQ), requests for tender (RFT) and expressions of interest (EOI) processes
• strong knowledge of Victorian Government procurement policies, frameworks and governance requirements
• demonstrated ability to develop procurement documentation, specifications, evaluation criteria and sourcing strategies
• experience providing practical procurement advice to stakeholders across a diverse range of business areas
• strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence and build productive working relationships
• experience supporting contract establishment, supplier management and procurement record management
• leadership capability with the ability to supervise, coach and develop team members
• a focus on continuous improvement, customer service and operational excellence
• tertiary qualifications in procurement, commerce, business, law, contract management or a related discipline (desirable)
• professional procurement accreditation such as CIPS or equivalent (desirable)
• a current driver's licence and willingness to travel within Victoria as required.
