An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Mental Health Clinician (RPN3, OT3, SW3 or Psychologist Grade 2) to join the Merri-bek Community Team within Northern Health's Mental Health Division.

\n

Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne's rapidly growing outer north.

\n

Services are provided through our six main campuses:

\n

Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals Centres and Kilmore District Hospital.

\n

In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.

\n

About Mental Health Division:

Northern Health is the third largest mental health service in Victoria Northern.

Within the Mental Health Division, we pride ourselves on providing high quality mental health services to people living in the northern regions of Melbourne, and work in a collaborative way with consumers and carers based on recovery principles.

We aim to provide strong clinical leadership to support all staff in the provision of professional treatment and care by our integrated community teams, inpatient, and residential services.

About the Role:

\n

We are located centrally in Coburg– close to Public Transport and parking options.

\n

The Merri-bekCommunity team is a large,supportiveand dynamic team made up of staff that are truly passionate and motivated in supporting consumers and their families/carers.

\n

We provide a comprehensive range of specialist mental health services to people who reside in the local government area of Merri-bek and Hume.

\n

We are recruiting for a Mental Health Clinician to work within the Acute Community Intervention Service (ACIS) function of the team.

\n

This role is working predominately shift work providing acute assessment and intervention to consumers and their families/carers in both an in-reach and outreach capacity.

\n

The clinicians working within ACIS work with a shared caseload of acute consumers and provide evidence based, recovery focused assessment and interventions to support and improve the lives of the consumers and carers of our service.

\n

The clinicians working within ACIS will also provide short-term intensive support for up to 3 months for appropriate consumers and be identified.

\n

This position involves working shift work 7 days per week between the hours of 8.30am and 10.30pm.

\n

This is part time, 0.5 EFT position, fixed term until July 2027.

\n

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Passionabout contributing positively to the lives of consumers with mental illness and their families
\n
• Advanced skills in the provision of Psychiatric assessment and intervention for consumers with a mental illness
\n
• Previous experience working in a community setting in a public mental health service is highly preferable
\n
• Proven Leadership skills
\n
• Ability to workas part of a team but also able to work autonomously
\n
• Advanced Communication Skills and Interpersonal Skills
\n
• Knowledgeofthe wider MH services in catchment area
\n
