We are seeking an experienced investigations leader to manage the day-to-day operations of the Ethical Standards Workplace Investigations Group. You will lead complex and sensitive investigations into suspected criminal conduct, corrupt conduct, misconduct and breaches of the Code of Conduct, while ensuring matters are progressed fairly, efficiently and in accordance with legislation, policy and trauma-informed practice.

You will provide trusted advice to senior leaders, guide a specialist investigations team, build strong stakeholder relationships and drive continuous improvement in investigative systems and performance.

Lead high-quality, fair and trauma-informed workplace investigations that strengthen integrity, accountability and confidence in Queensland Corrective Services. Queensland Corrective Services is seeking an experienced and values-driven investigations leader to join the Ethical Standards Workplace Investigations Group. This influential role offers the opportunity to lead the day-to-day operations of a specialist function responsible for progressing complex and sensitive matters involving suspected criminal conduct, corrupt conduct, misconduct and breaches of the Code of Conduct.

Reporting to the Director, you will work as part of a collaborative leadership team to ensure investigations are timely, evidence-based, procedurally fair and delivered to a consistently high standard. You will provide trusted expert advice to senior leaders, guide investigators through complex matters, manage risk and priorities, and foster a professional, respectful and accountable team culture.

What you will do

• Lead and direct workplace investigations, balancing legal and policy requirements, complexity, risk, timeliness and trauma-informed practice.
\n
• Provide timely, evidence-based advice on complaints, investigative strategy, resolution options and appropriate outcomes.
\n
• Monitor performance and emerging trends, using data and insights to strengthen ethical culture and decision‐making across QCS.
\n
• Drive continuous improvement in investigative systems, frameworks, procedures and work practices.
\n
• Build productive relationships with senior leaders, internal stakeholders, oversight bodies, regulators and law enforcement agencies.
\n
• Lead people and resources effectively, supporting a capable, resilient and high performing investigations team.

What you will bring

\n

You will be an accomplished investigations leader with demonstrated experience managing an investigative function in a large and complex organisation, ideally within the public sector. You will bring sound judgement, strong analytical capability and a contemporary understanding of investigative practice, together with the ability to influence, communicate clearly and build trusted strategic relationships. Experience establishing and improving investigative policies, systems and frameworks will be important, as will a proven ability to lead teams, manage performance and deliver high-quality outcomes. A relevant tertiary qualification or nationally recognised qualification in government investigations, workplace inspections or fraud control is highly desirable.
