Norwest Christian College is seeking a passionate and capable Visual Arts Teacher to join our Secondary School team from Term 1, 2027, with the possibility of an earlier start date by mutual agreement. This is an opportunity to teach Visual Arts, Photographic and Digital Media, and senior creative courses within a Christ-centred learning community that values both excellence and care.

About the role \n
Teach Visual Arts across Stages 4–6, including elective courses and senior HSC classes.
\n
Teach Stage 5 Photographic and Digital Media and Stage 6 Preliminary Photography, Video and Digital Imaging.
\n
Design engaging, rigorous and creative lessons that develop technical skill, critical thinking and confidence in students.
\n
Support students in developing bodies of work, portfolios and exhibition practices.
\n
Use a range of media, technologies and contemporary art practices to enrich teaching and learning.
\n
Contribute to the creative life of the College through exhibitions, events, excursions, workshops and enrichment opportunities.
\n
Maintain accurate assessment, reporting and student progress records in line with NESA and College requirements.
\n
Work collaboratively with colleagues in the Creative and Performing Arts faculty and contribute to ongoing professional learning.
\n
Engage in pastoral care responsibilities and authentically integrate Christian faith into teaching practice and student relationships.
About you \n
We are looking for a teacher who is committed to excellent classroom practice, strong relationships and the formation of young people. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a personal faith and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ and a lifestyle consistent with that faith, including active involvement in a Christian fellowship .

Relevant teaching qualifications and current NESA accreditation, or eligibility to obtain accreditation.
\n
Successful experience teaching Visual Arts, with HSC Visual Arts experience highly regarded.
\n
Strong classroom management, communication and interpersonal skills.
\n
A commitment to academic excellence and high expectations for student learning.
\n
A collaborative approach to program development, resource sharing and professional growth.
\n
A pastoral mindset and an understanding of the wellbeing needs of adolescents.
\n
A willingness to contribute to the co-curricular and community life of the College.
