Bidfood Australia is seeking an energetic and strong analytical National Sales Assistant to join the National Group Sales team in Melbourne. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a sharp eye for detail. You’ll be part of a dynamic team and will work under the close guidance and support of our National Sales teams in order to meet customers’ needs.


You will build relationships with internal stakeholders and will work closely with branches and category specialist to support the National Sales team.


About the Role:


Reporting to the National Sales Coordinator, the successful applicant will provide a high level of support to the National Sales team and to internal managers and staff across Bidfood’s National Network of Business Units.


Duties:



  • Provide high-level support to the National Sales Coordinator, Account Managers and National Sales Team.

  • Prepare and maintain sales, pricing, contract and customer performance reports.

  • Analyse sales and customer data to identify trends, opportunities and insights.

  • Support pricing reviews, contract administration and tender submissions.

  • Develop and maintain Excel-based reporting tools, dashboards and templates.

  • Assist with customer reviews, presentations and business proposals.

  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and suppliers to support customer and business requirements.

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reporting efficiency and data accuracy.

  • Support business projects, sales initiatives and other ad hoc commercial, analytical and administrative tasks as required.


Skills and Experience:



  • Advanced Microsoft Excel capability including Pivot Tables, data validation and complex formula creation.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends and provide meaningful business insights.

  • Proven experience in sales support, commercial administration, business analysis or a similar role.

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail when managing large volumes of data.

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of the business.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, use initiative and proactively solve problems.

  • Experience preparing reports, presentations and business reviews for stakeholders.

  • An understanding of Bidfood’s customer base and a knowledge of foodservice products.
