About the role

\n

Adam's Eden Garden Centre is seeking an experienced Landscape Gardener to join our growing landscaping team in Townsville.

\n

You will be involved in a variety of residential and commercial landscaping projects throughout Townsville and surrounding areas.

\n

This is a hands‐on position suited to someone with strong practical landscaping experience who is confident working independently, takes pride in completing work to a high standard, and is looking for a stable, long‐term opportunity with a growing local business.

\n

The successful applicant will work across a range of landscape installation, garden improvement and general landscaping projects.

\n

Key responsibilities

\n

\n
• Landscape construction and garden installation
\n
• Site preparation and garden bed preparation
\n
• Soil improvement and soil preparation
\n
• Planting trees, shrubs and other landscape plants
\n
• Installation and maintenance of irrigation systems
\n
• Paving, edging and general landscaping works
\n
• Turf preparation and installation
\n
• Mulching and garden finishing works
\n
• Installation of pots, garden features and landscape materials
\n
• Removal and replacement of plants where required
\n
• General garden restoration and improvement works
\n
• Use of landscaping tools and equipment
\n
• Reading landscape plans and following project specifications
\n
• Working independently and as part of a landscaping team
\n
• Maintaining a clean and safe worksite
\n
• Completing landscaping works to a high standard
\n

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

\n

To be considered for this position, applicants should have:

\n

\n
• At least 5 years of relevant practical landscaping or landscape gardening experience
\n
• Demonstrated practical experience in landscape construction and garden installation
\n
• Good knowledge of site preparation, soil preparation and planting techniques
\n
• Practical experience with irrigation installation and maintenance
\n
• Experience with paving, edging, turf installation and general landscaping works
\n
• Ability to read landscape plans and follow project specifications
\n
• Ability to work independently and complete jobs responsibly
\n
• Good practical problem‐solving skills
\n
• Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
\n
• Reliable and punctual work habits
\n
• Good communication and teamwork skills
\n
• Ability to undertake physically demanding outdoor work
\n
• Ability to safely use landscaping tools and equipment
\n
• A current Australian driver's licence
\n

\n

Relevant qualifications in Landscape Construction, Horticulture, Parks and Gardens or a related field will be highly regarded.
