Job Description

HII is seeking aDeputy / Fleet Sustainment Integration Leadthat will lead the integration of fleet availability, operational demand, and sustainment execution, ensuring readiness outcomes are managed proactively and aligned across planning, engineering, and delivery.This role will be located in Canberra, Australia.

• Integrate availability planning, defect resolution, and fleet demand
• Drive end-to-end readiness management across planning and execution
• Coordinate across Fleet Sustainment Division and Navy interfaces
• Align short-term availability decisions with long-term sustainment plans
• Support availability forecasting and performance stabilisation

Minimum Qualifications

• 10 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 8 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 14 years relevant progressive experience.
• Client requirements: 12–15+ years in fleet sustainment, availability planning, or operational readiness
• Hands-on experience with US SSN operations and sustainment cycles (VCS strongly preferred)
• Proven ability integrating:
  • Availability planning
  • Maintenance execution
  • Operational demand signals
• Strong understanding of:
  • Fleet readiness reporting (e.g., SORTS/DRRS concepts)
  • Defect management and availability recovery
• Experience coordinating with Navy operational commands and sustainment organisations

Preferred Requirements

• Direct experience supporting Virginia-class availability planning or maintenance execution
• Prior work with CSS or TYCOM Maintenance organizations, shipyards, SUPSHIP, or intermediate maintenance activities
• Prior Shipyard Engineer, Super-JO, Project Superintendent, EDMC, or 3MC
• Familiarity with digital readiness / predictive maintenance tools
• Experience aligning tactical readiness decisions with long-term lifecycle plans
