About the team

The Duties and Grants Governance and Risk function provide critical oversight across governance, risk, privacy, assurance, and high-risk statutory matters, helping build trust, strengthen accountability, and meet our obligations to customers, stakeholders and government.

Your day-to-day

• Lead initiatives that strengthen governance, risk management, privacy compliance and assurance across Duties and Grants, driving continuous improvement and capability uplift.
• Manage complex and sensitive matters, including Ministerial correspondence, complaints, Ombudsman enquiries, privacy matters and other statutory requests, providing advice and recommendations to support decision-making.
• Provide governance, risk, privacy and compliance advice to stakeholders, helping the business navigate obligations, manage emerging issues and achieve better customer and business outcomes.
• Lead assurance, audit and review activities, including stakeholder engagement, analysis, recommendation development and tracking actions through to implementation.
• Facilitate risk, privacy and governance reviews, workshops and discussions, identifying improvement opportunities and supporting the effective management of risk and compliance obligations.
• Develop high-quality briefs, reports, options papers, training materials and communications, and deliver initiatives that strengthen governance and risk capability across Duties and Grants.
• Coach and support team members, sharing knowledge and expertise to build capability, foster continuous learning and contribute to a high-performing team culture.

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:

• Knowledge of governance, risk, privacy, assurance, compliance or a related discipline, and the capability to translate requirements into practical advice.
• Proven track record building productive relationships and collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, including the capacity to assess complex issues, exercise sound judgement and develop recommendations that support informed decision-making.
• Excellent organisational skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
• Highly developed communication skills, including the preparation of clear, concise and insightful briefings, reports and presentations for a range of audiences.
• Demonstrated success leading initiatives, projects or business activities, and contributing to business improvements and operational outcomes.

Salary Grade 7/8, with the base salary for this role starting at $116981 base plus superannuation.
