The role

We have a fantastic Senior Leadership opportunity for an experienced and driven Head of Finance, Office to join The GPT Group.

In this high-impact role, you will be responsible for developing and executing the strategic direction of the Office Finance team, leading and inspiring a diverse and talented group of finance professionals who hold overall financial responsibility for the Office segment of our business.

Your remit will be broad and meaningful, encompassing financial control of actual performance, budgets and forecasts, operational and capital expenditure, KPI measurement and tracking, as well as the creation and delivery of development feasibilities that support our exciting development pipeline.

This is a strategic position that places you at the heart of the business, working in close partnership with the Office Executive team, the Finance leadership team, asset owners and external stakeholders. You will provide sophisticated financial analysis and strategic insight that drives the maximisation of current and future returns across the portfolio.

To excel in this role, you will be a confident and credible strategic advisor who understands the importance of empowering key stakeholders with the right information at the right time. Your ability to influence, engage and deliver will be fundamental in supporting effective decision making and driving superior outcomes for the portfolio.

What you will be doing

Key Responsibilities:

• Partner with the Head of Office to drive finance strategy, including growth, transaction and optimisation initiatives, while developing and implementing operational plans to support delivery
• Lead, mentor and coach the Office Finance team, ensuring the right structure and resources are in place to execute on strategy
• Maintain financial control across all aspects of Office segment performance, providing expert guidance on technical accounting matters
• Oversee the production and quality of external financial reporting (half and full year), segment reporting (monthly through to annual), and all forecasting cycles including reforecasts, long-term forecasts and the annual budget
• Manage the planning timetable and co-ordinate deliverables with key stakeholders, ensuring development feasibilities are accurate and aligned to agreed milestones
• Monitor Office performance against Management Agreements and profitability targets, leveraging data-driven insights to identify value-add opportunities
• Oversee governance, audit and risk management, ensuring all finance policies and procedures are consistently adhered to

You will bring the following qualifications and experience:

• A Bachelor of Commerce or equivalent degree, supported by CA or CPA professional membership
• Demonstrated experience in property finance, with a solid understanding of the sector
• Proven leadership capability within a high-performing and complex business environment
• Exceptional relationship building, communication, presentation and analytical skills
• Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop others
• Sound business and commercial acumen with a strategic, forward-thinking approach
• High attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to balance the big picture and the finer details
• The ability to manage multiple priorities, plan effectively and meet deadlines across teams and disciplines
• Advanced Excel modelling skills

It would be advantageous if you also have:

• Experience with SAP and/or Anaplan
• Familiarity with property related software programs
