The Team

The Vascular Access Service sits within the Intensive Care Unit and provides a specialised service to patients across the North West region. Led by the Nurse Unit Manager - ICU, the team works collaboratively with medical, nursing and allied health professionals to support safe, evidence-based vascular access care for both inpatients and outpatients. Service delivery spans the North West Regional Hospital and Mersey Community Hospital, supporting patients across a diverse range of clinical settings.

The Role

\n

Based across the North West Regional Hospital and Mersey Community Hospital, the Clinical Nurse Consultant - Vascular Access provides expert clinical leadership and consultancy in vascular access practice. The role supports patients across the North West region through specialist clinical care, coordination of referrals and service delivery, education, quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, the position plays a key role in maintaining high-quality, contemporary vascular access services and improving patient outcomes.

About The Successful Candidate

\n

The successful candidate will bring:

\n
• Advanced expertise in vascular access nursing practice, including PICC and midline insertion.
\n
• Experience in ultrasound-guided vascular access and related clinical technologies.
\n
• Current ANTT competency and commitment to maintaining relevant clinical credentialling.
\n
• Strong leadership, education and clinical consultancy skills.
\n

Details of appointment

\n

Permanent full time - day worker - 76 hours per fortnight. Commencing as soon able to join the team.

\n

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

\n

Salary

\n

$118,297 to $125,543 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

\n

\n
• Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
\n

\n

Access to the Grade 4 salary range $102,439- $109,175 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4.

\n

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

\n
• Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type.
\n

\n

Eligibility

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:

• Registered with the Nursing and Midwives Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse.
\n

\n

Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:

• Postgraduate qualification, or progress towards a tertiary qualification, relevant to the specialty area.
\n
