The School of Medical and Health Sciences is home to teaching and research in Medical and Biomedical Sciences, Allied Health, and Exercise and Sports Sciences, as well as in Public, Occupational and Environmental Health. Our world-class research is rapidly translated to provide solutions to some of the key health issues facing our community.

Established in 2003, the Exercise Medicine Research Institute sits within the School of Medical & Health Sciences and houses innovative, multidisciplinary and productive research and clinical teams in Exercise Science dedicated to investigating the extent to which exercise can be employed in chronic disease management, to materially improve patient outcomes. Working collaboratively with researchers, clinicians, industry partners and government agencies, EMRI translates evidence into practice to drive meaningful improvements in patient care and community health outcomes.

About The Opportunity

\n

This position is responsible for delivering high-quality physiotherapy services to clients of NeuroMoves, a specialised neurological exercise and rehabilitation clinic, operating at ECU Joondalup through a partnership between The Exercise Medicine Research Institute and Spinal Cord Injuries Australia. Working within a multidisciplinary environment, the successful applicant will provide evidence-based assessment, treatment and rehabilitation services to individuals living with neurological conditions, acquired brain injury, spinal cord injury and other complex disabilities.

The position will contribute to the delivery of client-centred care, support collaborative clinical relationships with healthcare providers and assist in providing high-quality practicum experiences for students.

About You

\n

The successful applicant will:

\n

\n
• Assess, develop, implement and review individualised physiotherapy treatment programs
\n
• Deliver rehabilitation services for clients with neurological conditions, injury and post-surgical needs.
\n
• Educate clients, families and carers to support ongoing health and rehabilitation outcomes.
\n
• Maintain comprehensive clinical documentation, patient records and reporting requirements.
\n
• Liaise effectively with general practitioners, allied health professionals and other healthcare stakeholders.
\n
• Contribute to clinical governance, risk management and quality improvement activities.
\n

Essential

\n

Applicants should demonstrate:

\n

\n
• Tertiary qualifications in Physiotherapy.
\n
• Current unrestricted registration with AHPRA
\n
• Current Medicare registration or eligibility to obtain registration.
\n
• Current unrestricted Australian driver's licence
\n
• Experience delivering physiotherapy services to individuals with illness, injury, disability or age-related conditions.
\n
• Passionate about working with neurological populations
\n
• Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
\n
• Highly developed interpersonal, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
\n
• Strong clinical reasoning, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
\n
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
\n

Desirable

\n

\n
• Experience working with neurological rehabilitation populations.
\n
• Experience working within the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) environment
\n
• Experience working within research-informed or university-based health services.
\n
