You own the numbers from enquiry to close-out. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll quote the full scope of every job, work with the teams who build it, and use real job data to keep our pricing sharp as material and labour costs move.
Quote accurately from drawings, tender documents and site information: materials, fabrication and labour hours, LED and electrical, access equipment, installation, freight and subcontractors.
Price at every scale - one-off architectural signs through to multi-site national rollouts.
Hit your targets - monthly quote volume, turnaround times, win rate and gross profit margin.
Own the cost model - build and maintain an activity-based estimating model in our ERP, and keep material rates and labour times current.
Close the loop - compare estimated vs actual cost on completed jobs, find the root cause of overruns and feed the lessons back into pricing.
Value-engineer - work with Sales, Design, Purchasing, Production and Projects on the right materials and process at a winning price.
Protect margin - review client and tender terms and flag pricing, liability or payment risk before we commit.
Back the sales team - join client meetings on complex jobs and ensure clean handovers into Projects.
5+ years of formal estimating in signage, shopfitting, metal fabrication, joinery or commercial fit-out. Signage experience is a strong advantage.
Confidence reading and questioning engineering drawings, CAD files and tender documents.
Strong commercial judgement - you understand cost, margin and how pricing wins or loses work.
Power-user skills in an ERP or estimating system (able to configure it, not just enter data) and advanced Excel.
A track record of building or improving a costing model. Activity-based costing experience is highly regarded.
Interest in digital take-off, automation and data tools that make quoting faster and more accurate.
Clear communication, attention to detail and the ability to deliver accurate work under tight deadlines.
