\nAbout the Role \n
\n

The Learning & Development (L&D) Coordinator is responsible for the planning, development, delivery, and evaluation of hospital-wide education and training programs in accordance with requirements of the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards, Licensing and Accreditation Regulatory Unit (LARU) private hospital standards and best practice standards. This role supports the professional growth of staff, ensures that compliance with mandatory training requirements is observed, and contributes to the hospital’s strategic goals related to the delivery of safe quality patient care and workforce capability.

\nKey Responsibilities Include: \n
\n

\n
• Embraces and advocates for a positive organisational culture and interaction with staff and consumers in accordance with Aegis Health vision and values.
\n
\n
• Assess, design, and deliver a hospital-wide L&D training program aligned with clinical, organisational and regulatory requirements e.g. LARU, NSQHS standards.
\n
\n
• Conducts training needs analysis to develop and maintain a hospital-wide calendar of learning events.
\n
\n
• Plans, implements, evaluates, and coordinates hospital induction program and provides and manages area specific orientation program.
\n
\n
• Coordinates hospital mandatory training, and competency-based education.
\n
\n
• Monitors attendance and compliance with staff mandatory training and education through the maintenance of accurate staff training records on an electronic database.
\n
\n
• Evaluates training effectiveness and report outcomes to hospital leadership.
\n
\n
• Prepares regular KPIs and reports on education activity for management review.
\n
\n
• Applies effective adult learning principles to facilitate comprehensive knowledge transfer.
\n
\n
• Supports clinical staff in maintaining professional development portfolios.
\n
\n
• Participates in policy development and quality improvement initiatives relevant to scope of practice.
\n
\n
• Promotes patient safety and clinical excellence through education.
\n
\n
• Collaborates with department managers and the multidisciplinary team to identify learning needs, educational programs and staff requirements and support quality improvement programs.
\n
\n
• Facilitates interdisciplinary learning and team development.
\n
\n
• Membership and participation in relevant hospital committees, working groups, and departmental meetings as required to meet organisational objectives.
\n
\n
• Promotes and participates in team building and decision making.
\n
\n
• Acts as a clinical resource within the hospital.
\n
\n
• Provides clinical support and supervision to nurses requiring performance assistance and supports clinical managers to complete performance review documents.
\n
\n
• Maintains knowledge of current Clinical and Non-clinical regulations and legislative requirements enabling best practices.
\n
\n
• Assists the hospital in undertaking other duties as directed.

\nAbout You \n
\n

\n
\n
• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
\n
\n
• Professional experience in an L&D role overseeing the design, development, and coordination of a hospital-wide program
\n
\n
• Tertiary qualifications relevant to L&D OR Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
\n
\n
• Knowledge and experience with hospital accreditation against the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in Health Care’s NSQHS Standards.
\n
\n
• Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge and experience in the delivery of nursing care.
\n
\n
• Demonstrated ability to facilitate and deliver education to all hospital staff incorporating adult learning principles.
\n
\n
• Demonstrated advanced skills in policy and data management.
\n
\n
• Demonstrated high level interpersonal, negotiation, organisational, and communication skills.
\n
\n
• Current knowledge of legislative obligations for equal opportunity, disability services, and Work Health and Safety, and how these impact on employment and service delivery.
\n
\n
• Demonstrated clinical experience in clinical specialty areas of procedural services and mental health.
\n
\n
• Demonstrate knowledge in teaching and assessment of patient manoeuvring and manual handling principles and techniques

• ALS2 Competency
