Justice Health is part of the Justice Services and Regulation (JSR) group in the Department of Justice and Community Safety and supports the Minister for Corrections and Youth Justice

Justice Health Is Responsible For

• The delivery of primary health, primary mental health and specialist forensic mental health services for people in Victorian prisons and young people in custodial centres – in Victoria, health services to people in adult correctional and youth justice facilities are delivered by both public and private providers
• Managing relevant contractual arrangements, including overseeing the delivery of health services and the provision and maintenance of all medical records in an electronic medical record
• Facilitating the release of health records to community health care providers, legal representatives, and individuals
• The design, procurement and delivery of new and innovative, evidenced-based health services that meet the needs of people of all ages and genders in custody.

What You Will Do

As a Health Records Assessment and Support Officer – Projects, you will support the Health Records team.

You will work alongside and provide high-level support to the Manager, Health Records, assisting with the development and review of Health Records processes to ensure their effectiveness, consistency and continuous improvement.

You Will

• manage key health records processes, including team governance and reviews
• develop clear processes, guidance documents, briefing papers and reports
• find practical ways to improve services and put better solutions into action
• support privacy matters as Justice Health privacy coordinator
• build a positive, inclusive and supportive workplace

About You

A tertiary or postgraduate qualification in a relevant field is highly desirable. Experience in health records is also highly desirable.

You Should Also Have

• project experience and strong skills in planning, organising and meeting deadlines
• strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Outlook and TRIM
• an understanding of privacy laws, including Victorian health and information privacy rules
• strong problem-solving and data skills, including advanced Excel formulas, pivot tables and charts
