Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission.

Collectively, Victoria's Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the ‘Courts Group'.

The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state. About the Role

Registrars are required to exercise powers conferred under the Magistrates' Court Act 1989, other Acts and Rules. These powers involve the preparation and processing of administrative and statutory documentation and the exercise of discretionary quasi judicial and statutory powers using professional judgement in applying legislative requirements, established rules and precedents, and the Court's Practice Directions.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the role of the Registrar at the MCV Service Centre is to act as an escalation point for all client service offices working across the multi-jurisdictional MCV Service Centre.

The Registrar will assist with both training and supporting the team and is expected to resolve complex enquiries whilst exercising their powers as a Court Registrar.

About You

You must be a Deputy Registrar who has successfully completed the MCV Trainee Court Registrar Program. You will be a highly effective communicator (both verbal and written) and possess solid understanding of the Court's protocols and procedures. Your other strengths will include:

• Strong interpersonal skills and effective team player
• Commitment to delivering quality services
• Certificate IV in Government (Court Services) or equivalent
