We're seeking an exceptional Associate Director Health, Safety & Wellbeing to lead the strategic direction of health, safety, wellbeing, compliance and organisational effectiveness across one of Australia's leading education providers.

Reporting to the Executive Director, People, Culture & Transformation (PCT), and contributing as a key member of the PCT Leadership Team, you will partner with senior leaders, the Executive Team, CEO and Board to drive safety excellence, strengthen organisational risk management, and build a high-performing, accountable culture across the Institute.

This is not your typical safety leadership role.

What You'll Lead

As Associate Director, you'll provide strategic leadership across:

• Health, Safety & Wellbeing strategy and organisational effectiveness initiatives.
• Enterprise-wide safety governance, compliance frameworks and Safety Management Systems.
• Workplace health and safety risk management, regulatory compliance and continuous improvement programs.
• Workers Compensation, injury management and return-to-work strategies.
• Employee wellbeing, psychosocial safety and employee engagement initiatives.
• People Matter Survey action planning and organisational culture improvement programs.
• Gender equality obligations and organisational accountability frameworks.
• Executive, CEO, Board and government stakeholder reporting.
• Building leadership capability and fostering a proactive culture of safety excellence, wellbeing and risk awareness.
• Leading and developing a high-performing Health, Safety & Wellbeing team while managing significant budgets and resources.

About You

You're a strategic and influential leader with the ability to translate vision into action.

You will bring:

• Degree and/or postgraduate qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety, Human Resources or a related discipline.
• Extensive leadership experience in Health, Safety & Wellbeing within a large and complex organisation.
• Strong expertise in workplace safety, wellbeing, workers compensation, compliance, governance and risk management.
• Experience developing and implementing enterprise-wide strategies and organisational improvement initiatives.
• A proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and provide trusted advice to Executive and Board-level audiences.
• Exceptional leadership, communication and relationship-building skills.
• A passion for creating safer, healthier and more engaged workplaces.
