Hotel Maintenance Officer

About the Role

\n

We are seeking a hands-on and reliable Hotel Maintenance Officer to join our team at Quality Hotel Robertson Gardens.

\n

This full-time role is primarily responsible for the maintenance, repair, and presentation of our guest accommodation, public areas, and hotel facilities. You will ensure rooms, units, and common areas are safe, functional, and maintained to a high standard, helping deliver an exceptional guest experience.

\n

While the primary focus is building and accommodation maintenance, the role will also provide support with gardening and grounds maintenance when required.

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

Guest Room & Building Maintenance

\n

\n
• Perform maintenance and repair work across motel rooms, apartments, public areas, and back-of-house facilities.
\n
• Complete minor carpentry, painting, plastering, tiling, and basic plumbing repairs.
\n
• Replace light fittings, repair fixtures and fittings, and carry out general building maintenance.
\n
• Program and maintain electronic door locks and guest room televisions.
\n
• Conduct room inspections and address maintenance issues promptly.
\n
• Repair and maintain furniture, doors, windows, locks, and room equipment.
\n
• Reseal wet areas and complete preventative maintenance tasks.
\n
• Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
\n
• Assist with room refurbishments and property improvement projects.
\n

Preventative Maintenance

\n

\n
• Complete planned preventative maintenance schedules across the property.
\n
• Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and hotel facilities.
\n
• Identify and rectify maintenance issues before they affect guest experience.
\n
• Maintain maintenance records using digital systems and reporting tools.
\n

Public Areas & Property Presentation

\n

\n
• Ensure public areas, walkways, amenities, and facilities remain safe and well-presented.
\n
• Maintain clean and functional service areas and storage spaces.
\n
• Assist with event setups, furniture movement, and equipment relocation as required.
\n

\n

Grounds & Gardens Support

\n

\n
• Assist with basic gardening and landscaping duties when required.
\n
• Help maintain outdoor guest areas, courtyards, pathways, and BBQ areas.
\n
• Support seasonal gardening projects and grounds maintenance activities.
\n
• Work with external contractors for specialist landscaping works.
\n

About You

\n

\n
• Previous experience in hotel, property, facilities, or building maintenance.
\n
• Strong practical skills across general repairs and preventative maintenance.
\n
• Experience working in accommodation, hospitality, or residential properties is highly regarded.
\n
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues efficiently.
\n
• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high presentation standards.
\n
• Comfortable working independently and managing competing priorities.
\n
• Basic gardening or grounds maintenance experience is desirable.
\n
• Current driver's licence preferred.
\n
• Trade qualifications or experience in a related field will be highly regarded.
