ABOUT XAG AUSTRALIA

XAG Australia is the authorised Australian distributor of XAG autonomous agricultural technologies. We specialise in advanced agricultural drones, robotics, precision farming equipment, and intelligent automation systems that are transforming agriculture and industrial operations across Australia.

Our mission extends beyond supplying equipment—we provide industry-leading technical support, training, after-sales service, and innovative solutions that enable our customers to operate with confidence.

As our business continues to grow nationally, we are seeking a motivated Technical Support & Service Technician to join our Sydney headquarters and become an integral part of our technical support team.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a diverse technical role that combines customer support, workshop service, product preparation, diagnostics, and manufacturer liaison.

You will become one of the company's technical experts, supporting our Sales Team, customers, authorised resellers, and manufacturing partners to ensure customers receive exceptional technical support before, during, and after their purchase.

The successful candidate will work with some of Australia's most advanced agricultural drone and robotic systems while helping shape the future of precision agriculture.

No two days are the same. You may spend one day assisting customers remotely, another preparing new equipment for dispatch, diagnosing complex technical faults, or working directly with our engineering team and overseas manufacturer to resolve product issues.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical Support

  • Provide technical support to the Sales Team during customer enquiries and pre-sales discussions.
  • Provide remote technical support to customers via phone, email and remote access.
  • Assist customers with product operation, troubleshooting and best practices.
  • Support authorised resellers with technical enquiries and product issues.
  • Escalate complex technical cases to the manufacturer where required.
  • Maintain professional communication with customers throughout the support process.

Workshop & Product Preparation

  • Assemble and disassemble agricultural drones, robotics and associated equipment.
  • Prepare customer orders for delivery, including system assembly, firmware updates, calibration and quality inspections.
  • Configure new products prior to dispatch.
  • Ensure products meet company quality standards before delivery.

Diagnostics & Repairs

  • Diagnose technical faults across aircraft, controllers, batteries, chargers, payload systems and supporting equipment.
  • Perform inspections, servicing, preventative maintenance and repairs.
  • Conduct system testing and commissioning.
  • Analyse system data and technical information to identify root causes.
  • Recommend repair solutions and replacement components.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare clear technical reports.
  • Prepare repair quotations and service recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate service records and internal documentation.
  • Assist in developing technical documentation and support materials.

Product Development & Continuous Improvement

  • Assist with product evaluation and testing.
  • Support R&D activities and product validation.
  • Provide technical feedback to engineering and manufacturing teams.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of company products and after-sales support processes.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for someone who enjoys solving technical problems and takes pride in helping customers.

You enjoy learning new technologies and are comfortable working across mechanical, electrical and software-based systems.

You communicate professionally, remain calm under pressure and enjoy finding practical solutions.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a technical support, service or repair role.
  • Experience diagnosing mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting ability.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Current Australian Driver Licence.
  • Full Australian working rights.

Desirable

  • Experience with UAVs, drones or robotics.
  • Agricultural machinery experience.
  • Electronics or mechatronics experience.
  • Experience supporting customers remotely.
  • Experience working with manufacturers or engineering teams.
  • Experience with firmware updates and product configuration.
  • Understanding of networking, software or communication systems.
  • Mandarin language skills (advantageous but not essential).

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Work with industry-leading agricultural drone and robotic technology.
  • Stable full-time employment with a growing Australian technology company.
  • Comprehensive product training.
  • Opportunities for career growth.
  • Exposure to cutting-edge autonomous technologies.
  • Supportive and collaborative team environment.
  • Modern workshop and office facilities in Seven Hills.
  • Opportunity to work closely with international engineering and manufacturing teams.

WHY JOIN XAG AUSTRALIA?
