Join SCHN as a Certified Perfusionist and be part of one of Australia's leading paediatric cardiac services. Working within a highly specialised multidisciplinary team, you will support complex cardiac surgery, ECMO, and the Heart Transplant and Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) Program. This is a unique opportunity to apply your expertise in a world-class children's hospital environment while making a lasting impact on the lives of children and their families.
The purpose of the position is to provide those functions necessary for support, treatment, measurement or supplementation of the cardiopulmonary and circulatory system of the patient. The Perfusionist performs advanced work in the selection, preparation, operation and maintenance of extracorporeal circulatory equipment. These duties are performed in close cooperation with surgical, anaesthetic and intensive care staff and in accordance with hospital policy. The primary locations
of work are the cardiac operating theatre, PICU, invasive radiology suite and the transplant operating theatre, however the possibility exists of working in other areas.
