Nextgen AV is looking for an energetic and highly motivated Junior AV Sales Coordinator to join our Melbourne team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the beginning of their sales career who already understands audiovisual equipment and wants to learn how professional events are quoted, planned and sold.

You do not need to be an experienced salesperson. We are looking for someone with strong audiovisual knowledge, an excellent telephone manner, outstanding administration skills and the determination to give sales a red-hot go.

The opportunity

You will work closely with our Sales Manager and help manage enquiries for audiovisual hire and event-production services.

You will speak with clients, understand their requirements, prepare quotations, assist with basic floor plans and follow up opportunities through our sales pipeline.

The successful candidate will receive guidance and practical experience across the complete sales process, with the opportunity to develop into a confident audiovisual salesperson.

This is a fast-moving, hands-on position for someone who wants to learn, contribute and build a long-term career in the event-production industry.

Your responsibilities

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Answering incoming sales calls and responding professionally to client enquiries

• Speaking confidently with clients about their event and audiovisual requirements

• Gathering the information required to prepare accurate quotations

• Preparing audiovisual hire and event-production quotations

• Assisting the Sales Manager with larger and more complex proposals

• Following up outstanding quotations by telephone and email

• Maintaining regular contact with prospective clients

• Updating enquiries, activities, notes and opportunities in HubSpot

• Keeping the sales pipeline accurate and up to date

• Preparing basic event layouts and floor plans

• Coordinating site-inspection information and client documentation

• Helping assemble complete project information for handover to the operations team

• Following up missing client details, approvals and purchase orders

• Maintaining accurate files, records and sales administration

• Learning Nextgen AV’s equipment, services, pricing and production capabilities

About you

Your telephone manner will be one of your greatest strengths.

You are comfortable picking up the phone, building rapport and having professional conversations with new and existing clients. You communicate with energy and confidence without sounding pushy or scripted.

You will also have:

• Some practical knowledge of audiovisual equipment or AV hire

• A genuine interest in events and technical production

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Strong administration and organisational ability

• High attention to detail when preparing quotations and client information

• A strong work ethic and willingness to follow through

• A proactive, get-up-and-go attitude

• The confidence to follow up quotations and ask clients about their decisions

• The ability to manage multiple enquiries and competing deadlines

• Good computer skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly

• A professional and positive approach to clients and colleagues

• A willingness to receive feedback and continuously improve

Previous experience with HubSpot, CRM systems, quotation software, floor-planning programs or equipment-hire systems will be advantageous but is not essential.

Important: this is an office-based role

This is a full-time, office-based position at our Burwood premises.

It is not a work-from-home role. The successful candidate will learn by working directly with our sales, operations, warehouse and production teams.

Being present in the business is essential for developing your equipment knowledge, understanding how projects are delivered and building the practical experience required to become a successful AV salesperson.
