As National Underwriting Manager Marine, Australia & New Zealand, you will play a key leadership role in shaping the future of Zurich’s Marine portfolio across Commercial, Digital and Partnerships. Partnering closely with underwriting leaders, you will help drive profitable growth, strengthen underwriting excellence, and ensure disciplined execution of strategy across Australia and New Zealand.

This is an opportunity to influence business performance, develop underwriting capability, and lead meaningful change in a highly visible market-facing role. You will bring people together around a shared vision, helping Zurich continue to deliver exceptional outcomes for customers, brokers, and partners while supporting our ambition to be Australia’s leading digital insurer.

You will also be responsible for the following:

• Driving the delivery of profitable growth and underwriting performance across the Marine portfolio
• Leading the local execution of underwriting strategy aligned to global and regional priorities
• Coaching and developing underwriting talent while fostering a culture of learning and collaboration
• Building strong relationships with brokers, customers and key market stakeholders
• Using data and insights to support portfolio management, decision making and continuous improvement
• Collaborating across business units and functions to deliver customer-focused solutions and business outcomes

You are a strategic and commercially minded leader who brings people together to achieve shared outcomes. You thrive in a dynamic environment, balance big-picture thinking with disciplined execution, and build trusted relationships with stakeholders at every level.

To be successful, you will have the following:

• Extensive technical underwriting experience within Marine insurance
• Proven leadership experience developing and managing high-performing teams
• Demonstrated success delivering profitable growth and leading change in a complex insurance environment
• Strong commercial and financial acumen with the ability to influence business outcomes
• Experience building and maintaining strong relationships with brokers, customers and industry partners
• Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or professional insurance accreditation such as ANZIIF CIP
