The opportunity

\n

Help grow football participation across Southern Tasmania and create more opportunities for children, young people and families to connect with the game.

\n

Based in Hobart, the Participation Coordinator will deliver and develop football programmes across schools, clubs and community settings.

\n

You will build trusted local relationships, support volunteers and create safe, inclusive and enjoyable experiences that help participants begin and continue their involvement in football.

\n

What You'll Own

\n

You will bring participation opportunities to life across southern Tasmania, strengthening local programmes and pathways in partnership with schools, clubs, volunteers and community stakeholders.

\n

You'll Add Value Through

\n

\n
• Delivering and growing NAB AFL Auskick and Superkick programmes across the region
\n
• Building clear pathways that help children and families move from introductory programmes into local clubs and competitions
\n
• Developing strong working relationships with schools, clubs, teachers, volunteers, associations and community organisations
\n
• Collaborating with the STJFL, SFL and other football stakeholders to strengthen participation outcomes
\n
• Recruiting, supporting and developing Auskick and Superkick Coordinators and other community volunteers
\n
• Training and supporting casual staff to deliver safe, inclusive and high-quality football programmes
\n
• Developing and implementing local participation plans that respond to community needs and growth opportunities
\n
• Supporting participation growth among girls, multicultural communities and people with disability
\n
• Coordinating and contributing to school football, AFL Nines, community football activities and other AFL Tasmania programmes and events
\n
• Supporting AFLW and VFLW match-day participation initiatives, including occasional evening and weekend work
\n

What You'll Bring

\n

\n
• Experience working with children and young people in sport, education, recreation, community development, events, youth engagement or a related environment
\n
• Strong communication and relationship-building capability, with the ability to work effectively with schools, clubs, volunteers and community stakeholders
\n
• Initiative and sound judgement, with the ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to a collaborative team
\n
• Strong organisation and time-management skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities in a field-based role
\n
• A qualification in Sport Management, Recreation, Education, Coaching or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
\n
• Competence using Microsoft Office products and the ability to use technology effectively in day-to-day work
\n
• A current Tasmanian Driver Licence
\n
• A valid Employee Working with Vulnerable People Check
\n
• Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends
\n
• A commitment to creating safe, inclusive and positive experiences for children, young people, families and communities
\n
