The Role

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Legal Counsel based in either Melbourne or Sydney to join this high-performing legal team.

In this role you will work at the centre of their major infrastructure projects, and support broader commercial strategy.

You will:

• Draft, review and negotiate major project, construction and commercial agreements (including EPC, ITC, Alliance, D&C, PPP and consultancy contracts)
• Advise on procurement strategies, tender processes and bid documentation
• Provide commercially focused legal advice across major projects, infrastructure and development matters
• Support contract management, risk allocation and project structuring
• Partner with internal stakeholders to deliver successful project and commercial outcomes
• Manage external legal advisers and supporting key project negotiations

The Candidate

You will be a construction, projects or infrastructure lawyer with approximately 8+ years' PQE, gained within a reputable law firm or a leading in-house environment.

You will also bring:

• Strong experience advising on front-end construction, infrastructure and major projects matters
• Particular depth of experience in rail infrastructure is favourable
• Deep understanding of construction contracting models, procurement frameworks and risk allocation principles
• Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure, energy, and transport projects
• Strong commercial acumen and the ability to influence senior stakeholders
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship management skills
• A proactive, pragmatic and solutions-focused mindset
• The ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and complex project environment
