About the Role
The Senior Legal Counsel – Generalist, reports directly to the Director Legal Services and provides accurate and timely legal advice on a broad range of commercial, trusts and property matters.
The role undertakes legal research and document reviews, provides sound advice and accurately drafted legal documents.
As a true generalist the role exercises a flexible, experienced and commercial mindset to manage end-to-end corporate and commercial legal matters.
As part of a skilled team the role provides legal services to the Synod of Victoria and Tasmania, Property Trusts, UCA institutions, presbyteries and congregations, and supports areas such as charities, disputes and privacy as required.
The Senior Legal Counsel mentors others and promotes legal literacy across the organisation and with senior stakeholders and clients.
About You
- Bachelor Degree in Law
- Admission to practice as an Australian Legal Practitioner
- 8+ years post admission experience (mixture of law firm and in-house experience preferred)
- Excellent client orientation and interpersonal skills
