Reporting into the Manager, Whole of Energy Strategy and Transition the Senior Policy Officer develops policy and regulatory reform that informs the strategic direction of the Energy Group’s work program to deliver Victoria’s energy transition. The Senior Policy Officer is highly motivated and plays a leading role in developing evidence-based policy advice to the Minister for Energy and Resources, as well as senior executives.
The Senior Policy Officer has well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent attention to detail, and clear and succinct written and verbal communication skills. Experience within a policy and / or regulatory environment within a governmental context is advantageous, as is an ability to engage with technical policy issues and legislative/regulatory schemes. Forming productive, trusting relationships with stakeholders is crucial, given the need to collaborate across DEECA and with national energy market bodies, Victorian Government agencies and other jurisdictions.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
There are 2 fixed term positions available for a period of 3 years. The work location for this position is 8 Nicholson St, East Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.
