About the Role

As the Multimedia Production Officer you’ll be both hands‑on content creator and a production resource for the Strategic Communications team. You will work directly with the Creative Content & Digital team and Marketing and Communication Business Partners to develop ideas, source stories and assets, provide production support, capture and edit short‑form video and photography, and turnkey messages and campaign objectives into engaging storytelling content.

You will thrive in this role if you are highly organised, creatively curious, comfortable working in the field and happy to jump between production coordination, asset sourcing and hands‑on mobile content creation.

Reporting to the Team Leader – Creative Content and Digital the core responsibilities include:

• Content creation and storytelling

Support the team by capturing and creating audience‑focused content for social and digital channels, including short‑form video, reels, stories and photography. Confidently capture content on location using mobile devices, identify strong visual and human‑interest angles, and edit content quickly for publication.

• Production coordination & support

Support content from pre‑production through to delivery by developing or assisting with creative briefs, run sheets, interview questions and shot lists; coordinating talent, locations, permissions and logistics; and providing practical production assistance on shoots as required.

• Campaign, asset & team support

Work collaboratively with business partners, the Communications and Marketing Leads, and the wider Creative Content & Digital team to support campaigns and ad hoc requests. Source existing photos, footage and other assets; identify content opportunities; help organise talent; and support the Shire's photographer/videographer on set when required.

• Audience‑focused and channel optimisation

Create and adapt content with the audience, channel and communication objective in mind. Use sound judgement to determine the most effective format for social and digital platforms, and respond to performance insights and opportunities to improve reach and engagement of content.

About You

• Education & Experience – Relevant experience in content production, media, journalism, communications, social media, screen production or a related field. A formal qualification is desirable but demonstrated practical experience in a newsroom, agency, production environment, in‑house content team or similar setting will be highly regarded.
• Communication & Collaboration – Strong written and verbal communication skills and the confidence to work across a variety of subject areas with business partners, communications and marketing specialists, community members and internal stakeholders. Able to work flexibly across planned campaigns and ad hoc content needs, with sound awareness of consent, privacy, child safety, accessibility, brand and reputational considerations.
• Production & Coordination – Demonstrated experience supporting or coordinating content production, such as developing briefs or storyboards, preparing run sheets and shot lists, sourcing assets, organising talent and locations, assisting on shoots and working to deadlines.
• Mobile Content Creation – Confidence capturing good‑quality video and photos on an iPhone or similar mobile device, with the ability to complete simple, fast edits for social and digital channels. Experience with professional photography, videography or editing software is highly regarded but not essential.
