The Department of Housing and Works delivers and maintains essential social housing and critical infrastructure across Western Australia—including schools, hospitals and police facilities.

We manage tenancy services, support housing provision in remote Aboriginal communities, and oversee government employee accommodation.

About The Role:

As Manager Human Resources you will lead a team of HR practitioners to deliver high-quality services including recruitment, classification, performance management, employee relations and industrial relations. You will provide trusted advice to senior leaders on complex workforce matters, legislation and organisational impacts, and drive HR projects and initiatives that strengthen DHW’s culture, improve service delivery and support departmental priorities.

You will build strong relationships across the department and with key external agencies, use workforce data to inform decision-making, and ensure HR practices are transparent, compliant and aligned with public sector frameworks. The Manager Human Resources models DHW’s values and leadership behaviours and contributes to continuous improvement across Workforce Services.

You will bring to the role strong judgement, strategic insight and a genuine passion for people. You will help set the tone for a positive, contemporary workforce culture that provides HR solutions that are grounded in empathy, clarity, accountability and respect.

As one of three team leaders within Workforce Services you will lead a dedicated team and, as part of the Workforce Services leadership team, work collaboratively with your fellow team members to drive innovative HR practices and solutions that support a large and complex workforce.
