About the Role

SSP Australia is looking for experienced and motivated Café and Bar Supervisors to join our team at Canberra Airport.

We have both full-time and part-time opportunities available, making this a great option for experienced hospitality leaders looking for a stable role, career progression, or greater flexibility.

You will work across a busy airport hospitality environment, helping lead day-to-day operations, support team members and deliver a consistently high standard of service.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you will work alongside your team, solve problems as they arise and help create a positive and productive workplace.

Depending on your experience and interests, opportunities are available across both café and bar operations.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Supervisor, you will:

• Lead and support the team during daily service.
• Coordinate shifts and ensure smooth venue operations.
• Deliver excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
• Coach and develop team members through practical, on-shift leadership.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, cleanliness and presentation.
• Support opening, closing and cash-handling procedures.
• Monitor service standards and respond quickly to operational issues.
• Assist with stock management, waste control and venue performance.
• Lead by example and help create a positive team culture.

About You

We are looking for people who enjoy hospitality, take pride in leading a team and are comfortable working in a busy environment.

Ideally, you will have:

• Previous experience as a Supervisor, Team Leader or senior hospitality team member.
• Strong communication and people-management skills.
• A hands-on, lead-by-example approach.
• Good food safety knowledge.
• Confidence working independently and making decisions during service.
• Strong problem-solving and organisational skills.
• The ability to remain calm and organised during busy periods.
• Flexible availability across airport operating hours.

For bar-based roles, previous bar experience and applicable RSA requirements will be highly regarded.
