Position purpose

The Physiotherapist will provide person centred, evidence informed physiotherapy services to participants and clients of Range Support Services. The role will also support the establishment and ongoing development of the organisation's physiotherapy service, including clinical systems, referral pathways, service quality and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Key responsibilities

1. Complete comprehensive physiotherapy assessments and identify functional goals in partnership with participants.

2. Develop, implement and review individual physiotherapy treatment and capacity building plans.

3. Provide intervention relating to mobility, strength, balance, gait, physical function, pain management and independence within professional scope.

4. Prepare clear clinical records, reports and recommendations that meet professional, organisational and funding requirements.

5. Provide education and practical guidance to participants, families, carers and support workers where appropriate.

6. Contribute to equipment and mobility recommendations within competence and approved scope.

7. Work collaboratively with support coordinators, allied health professionals, medical practitioners and other relevant services.

8. Maintain current AHPRA registration, continuing professional development and required screening checks.

9. Participate in clinical supervision and reflective practice.

10. Support the development of internal and external referral relationships.

11. Monitor participant outcomes, caseload, utilisation, cancellations and service risks.

12. Maintain equipment safety and report maintenance needs.

13. Complete community visits where required and approved.

Essential selection criteria

• Approved physiotherapy qualification.
• Current registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia through AHPRA.
• Demonstrated ability to practise safely and independently within scope.
• Strong clinical assessment, reasoning, treatment planning and documentation skills. (Or willing to learn)
• Demonstrated communication skills with people with disability, families and multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to person centred practice, participant choice, dignity and safeguarding.
• Understanding of professional boundaries, privacy, consent, clinical risk and incident management.
• Ability to manage a caseload and meet clinical documentation timeframes.
• Required worker screening and other checks relevant to the participant cohort.
• Current driver licence where community visits are part of the role.

Desirable criteria

• Experience delivering physiotherapy in disability, community health, rehabilitation or NDIS environments.
• Experience preparing functional assessments and NDIS related reports.
• Experience with mobility, falls prevention, neurological conditions or complex disability.

• Reports are completed within agreed timeframes.
• Positive participant and referrer feedback.
