Senior Project Engineer
Common Good Partners is working with an established Australian commercial construction business to appoint a Senior Project Engineer for a major, high-profile project in Sydney’s CBD.
This is an opportunity to join an experienced project team and take ownership of key packages across a large-scale, technically complex new builds. You will work closely with the Project Manager, Site Manager and wider delivery team to ensure the project is delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Common Good Partners is working with an established Australian commercial construction business to appoint a Senior Project Engineer for a major, high-profile project in Sydney’s CBD.
This is an opportunity to join an experienced project team and take ownership of key packages across a large-scale, technically complex new builds. You will work closely with the Project Manager, Site Manager and wider delivery team to ensure the project is delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
Your responsibilities will include
- Managing major construction packages from procurement through to completion
- Coordinating subcontractors, consultants and internal project stakeholders
- Reviewing design documentation and resolving technical issues
- Managing RFIs, shop drawings, methodologies and approvals
- Monitoring programme, quality, cost and delivery milestones
- Supporting procurement, contract administration and commercial processes
- Ensuring works comply with project specifications, safety requirements and relevant standards
- Mentoring and supporting junior engineers where required
- Building strong relationships with the client, consultants and subcontractors
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- Previous experience with a recognised Tier 1 or Tier 2 builder
- Demonstrated experience delivering large-scale construction new build projects - not infrastructure and civils
- Experience working as a Senior Project Engineer, or as an accomplished Project Engineer ready to step up
- Strong technical construction knowledge and major package ownership on new builds like government, commercial, residential or similar
- The ability to coordinate multiple subcontractors, consultants and stakeholders
- Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
- A qualification in construction management, engineering or a related discipline
