Precision Scaffolding is looking for a highly experienced Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic to take responsibility for the maintenance and repair of our company fleet.
We operate a fleet of approximately 14 trucks, including rigid trucks and prime movers/semi-trailers, along with Manitou truck-mounted forklifts used throughout our scaffolding operations.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day servicing, maintenance, diagnosis and repair of our fleet and equipment.
Your duties will include:
Servicing and repairing heavy vehicles, particularly Japanese trucks
Servicing, diagnosing and repairing Manitou truck-mounted forklifts
Diagnosing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and air faults
Preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing
Truck and trailer repairs
Hydraulic fault finding and repairs
Engine rebuilds and gearbox work as required
Identifying defects before they develop into major failures
Organising and prioritising your own maintenance workload
Keeping accurate service and repair records
Ensuring vehicles and equipment are maintained to a high safety and roadworthiness standard
Working with management to minimise vehicle and equipment downtime
Assisting with breakdowns and urgent repairs when required
The successful applicant will have:
Australian working rights
Minimum 3 years' experience as a qualified heavy vehicle/diesel mechanic
Strong experience working on Japanese trucks, particularly Isuzu, UD or similar
Experience with Manitou truck-mounted forklifts or similar equipment would be highly regarded
Strong hydraulic diagnostic and repair skills
Excellent mechanical and electrical diagnostic and fault-finding ability
Experience with diesel engines, transmissions, air brakes, suspension and electrical systems
Ability to work independently and without constant supervision
A practical approach to repairs and preventative maintenance
Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise jobs
High standards of workmanship
A strong understanding of vehicle and equipment safety and maintenance requirements
Australian-recognised mechanical qualifications or equivalent relevant trade qualifications
