The Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) is seeking a Program Manager, Commercial Performance to lead the development and management of commercial strategies, contracts and supplier performance arrangements that support Bushfire and Forest Services operations.

This is an opportunity to join a purpose-driven team responsible for ensuring commercial arrangements deliver value for money, support operational readiness and enable critical emergency management capability across Victoria. You will work closely with procurement, asset management, logistics and operational teams to strengthen contract governance, improve supplier performance and support informed commercial decision-making.

As a Program Manager, Commercial Performance, you will provide expert commercial advice, lead complex contract negotiations and drive continuous improvement across the contract lifecycle. You will play a key role in ensuring commercial arrangements are practical, compliant and aligned with operational requirements in both business-as-usual and emergency management environments.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in commerce, business, procurement, law, contract management or a related discipline is desirable, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Demonstrated experience providing commercial and contract management advice across a portfolio of suppliers, including drafting, reviewing and interpreting contract terms, schedules and associated documentation.
• Proven experience managing commercial arrangements across the contract lifecycle, including ensuring value for money is achieved and sustained.
• Proven understanding of and significant exposure to procurement and contract management frameworks, governance, delegations and record-keeping requirements, with demonstrated ability to maintain audit-ready contract registers and documentation.
• Forklift licence may be required.
• A valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel within Victoria are required.

This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is Kyle Road, Altona North with hybrid work arrangements available.
