Youth Justice Worker - Cherry Creek

Cherry Creek Youth Justice Precinct is our newest facility and accommodates young men in 4-bed and 8-bed units across several neighbourhoods.

As a youth justice worker, you will guide young people in custody through rehabilitation by modelling positive behaviour and engaging them in programs to build life and work skills.

This is a frontline custodial role in a youth detention facility where you will also promote important security procedures.

Your work will help young people get their lives back on track by:

maintaining safety and security

establishing healthy routines

setting clear boundaries and redirecting challenging behaviour

responding to incidents

helping them develop positive relationships

facilitating support from health and mental health providers.

This job can be tough. At times, it can feel relentless and your resilience will be tested.

You will be guided by supportive senior leaders and mentors, backed by a skilled team of fellow youth justice workers.

Our training program will set you up to be a role model from your first day.

You will receive:

• 8 weeks of fully paid training
• a rotating fortnightly roster where you will work no more than 3 days in a row
